About the ABR

The ABR aims;
To welcome and to give advice and support to new British and Commonwealth citizens when they arrive in Sri Lanka
To provide general advice and information to members of the association through our web site and our monthly e-newsletters, coffee mornings and TGIF ( Friday evening Social )
To arrange social activities to facilitate interaction between members.
To raise and administer funds to be used to implement the above objectives
To assist selected local charities
Membership
All British and Commonwealth citizens and their families, living in Sri Lanka on a permanent or temporary basis
Activities
We organise regular monthly activities like the coffee mornings, TGIF nights (for newcomers and any ABR members who would like to get together) and the library.
Besides the above monthly activities the ABR organizes many events throughout the year. The regulars usually are something for Valentine, a major fund raiser round spring time and a Christmas Carol evening in December. All events are much enjoyed by one and all.
ABR procures many special discounts for various hotels, restaurants, shops, travel agencies etc exclusive for its members.
The ABR Council
The ABR is managed by a Council, a group of voluntary persons from the membership. The Council is elected at the AGM, held late March or early APRIL.
